The Replacement Civic Centre construction is on schedule and on budget. Nearly all the foundation work has been completed which now significantly reduces the risk of dewatering issues.

Structural steel is scheduled to arrive by mid-October, with installation continuing through early December. The building will be enclosed via various materials, with the roof being at a stage to provide a waterproof barrier, to allow interior work to proceed during the winter months.

As of the end of September, approximately $7 million worth of construction was completed. The procurement process for furniture, fittings and equipment is underway, with a request for proposals expected later this year.

The project remains on track for substantial completion by the end of 2025, with the demolition of the existing Civic Centre and remaining landscaping taking place between January and June 2026.
