Verbal update by staff regarding Georgina Civic Centre construction

Council received a verbal update regarding the progress of construction for the replacement Civic Centre. The entire first floor including the north wing and Council chamber have been enclosed to allow for the required heating, with the installation of the roofing assembly continuing in sections at the roof level. Due to the various instances of significant snow events and cold temperatures throughout January and February, Maystar has re-sequenced their work tasks a number of times in order to work around, and with, the weather as best as possible to continue to advance the project. The second story concrete floor slab will be in place early next week with the concrete slab on grade for the entire building being placed in stages over the following three to four weeks. As the stages of slab placement are completed and attain the required strength, the various trades will start to begin working on the interior partitions, etc. Building envelope work will continue in parallel. The project is on track to achieve substantial completion during the latter half of Q4 this year. The project continues to be within budget.
