The Town of Georgina is excited to be improving the playground at Holmes Point Park.
The existing senior play equipment has reached the end of its lifecycle and will be replaced with new, accessible play equipment designed for children ages 5–12. The new playground equipment will promote creativity and imaginative play through an inclusive and accessible design.
As part of this project, the Town is enhancing accessibility throughout the playground. Improvements will include:
- A new accessible concrete walkway connecting the parking lot directly to the playground
- Ramped access to the main play structure
- A variety of accessible play features at both ground and elevated levels
- New safety surfacing and curbs around the playground space
The junior play area, including the swings and flower “talk tubes”, will remain in place and continue to be enjoyed by younger children.
Building on recent upgrades, including the addition of an accessible mobile washroom, this project reflects the Town’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming park spaces for all residents and visitors.
Inspired by the park’s waterfront setting, the new playground design will incorporate elements that reflect a connection to Lake Simcoe.
Once complete, the upgraded playground will provide a safe, engaging, and accessible space for the more than 2,000 children who visit Holmes Point Park each year.
