Overview
The Town of Georgina is developing a new park and multi-use trail as part of the Ainslie Hill Phase 1 Development in Sutton.
The new park and open space areas will connect directly to the popular Sutton Zephyr Rail Trail near Catering Road and Rail Trail Court, creating new opportunities for recreation and active living in Sutton.
The project will feature two new parks, a multi-use trail, riverfront lookouts, a playground, fitness equipment and spaces to relax and enjoy nature.

What's happening?
The new parklands and multi-use trail will provide new recreation opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. This project focused on creating spaces for families and friends to gather and expanding Georgina's network of parks and multi-use trails.
The project includes two new neighbourhood parks:
- Park A (Block 195) – approximately 0.33 hectares
- Park B (Block 194) – approximately 0.19 hectares
Features of this project include:
- Accessible 3 m wide multi-use trails connecting residential areas to new parklands
- Direct connections to the popular Sutton-Zephyr Rail Trail
- Bench seating and rest areas
- Trail lookout and gathering area with curved pergola near the Black River
- Interpretive signs
- New landscaping, trees and native plantings
- Two playgrounds (one in Park A and one in Park B)
- Concrete seating terrace near play equipment for parents and families
- Outdoor fitness equipment
- A shade pavilion
- Open green space
- Naturalized areas and habitat
Why this project matters
The Ainslie Hill Park and Multi-Use Trail will create new opportunities for recreation, active living and enjoying nature for a growing community. It will improve connections to the existing Sutton-Zephyr Rail Trail provides more opportunities to walk, cycle, roll, exercise and explore.
